Hi, my name is Cary. And I want to share with you how the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless has helped me change my life for the better. I experienced mental health issues, addiction and homelessness in three different states since I was in my 20’s. During a time when I was doing okay, I moved to Denver to work and that’s when I connected with Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. They helped me with the day to day challenges of maintaining sobriety, managing my mental health issues and finding employment. Last year, Colorado Coalition for the Homeless provided housing and services to more than 20,000 people experiencing homelessness. Housing is a vital first step in overcoming homelessness but it’s not enough. The wrap-around services to address illness, mental health issues and addictions are essential in helping someone reach lasting stability.
